Chateau Belgrave belongs to the company Dourthe established in Bordeaux since 1840. The founder, Pierre Dourthe, owns an hotel at Lit-et-Mixe in the Landes department.

In 1870
, his son Jean, succeeded him and settled in Bordeaux.

In 1929
, the fourth generation of Dourthe (Roger and André) bought Chateau Maucaillou in Moulis in the Medoc and gave Maison Dourthe a base for development. The Dourthe House chooses to settle in the heart of the Vineyard in the Médoc, unlike the Bordeaux Merchant Houses installed for the most part at the Quai des Chartrons in Bordeaux.

It was in 1979
that the Maison Dourthe acquired Château Belgrave, Grand Cru Classified Medoc, and created of Bordeaux wine: Beau Mayne.

Under Louis XV, the castle was a famous hunting lodge and the Château Belgrave vineyard grew under the influence of the Coutanceau family.In 1845 the name "Bellegrave" appeared when Bruno Deves, a wine merchant in Bordeaux; restructure the property.

The name of Château Belgrave was taken up in the 20th century by Marcel Alibert, the founder of Grands Crus Classified and owner of Chateau Belgrave.

The Chateau produce a second wine Diane de Belgrave.
