Grant Burge was created by a Barossa winemaker. It has been one of the most respected and innovative strengths of Ausralie's wine industry.
The story of the Burge family goes back to March 1855, when famed tailor John Burge immigrated to Barossa from Hillcot, near Pewsey, Wiltshire, England, with his wife Eliza and their two sons.

John Burge worked as a winemaker at Hillside Vineyards and his love of viticulture was passed on to his son, Meshach, who continued the tradition by making his first wine in 1865.

Meshach Burge married to Emma in 1883 and they had eight children. The firstborn, Percival, founded the Wilsford Winery near Lyndoch in 1928. Percival had two sons, Noel and Colin, and Colin and his wife Nancy had a son, Grant.

Grant Burge Wines is owned by the family of brands Accolade Wines in 2015. Since then, the winery has flourished nationally and internationally, the wines have been cited by writers and amateurs, and the focus has been on the production beautiful Barossa. The wines became more famous under the direction of chief winemaker Craig Stansborough and winemaker Rodney Birchmore.

Grant Burge Wines is a wine estate in Barossa, dedicated to the development of award-winning wines. Grant Burge Wines was established in 1988 and is located in the center of the Barossa Valley. The wines are renowned around the world for their consistent quality and integrity. The vineyards of Grant Burge Wines have been ranked 5-star Red Winery 11 years in a row by James Halliday's Australian Wine Companion.

The Barossa region is famous worldwide for its high-end wines. The diversity of terroirs and levels of the region, combined with its Mediterranean climate, provides the ideal environment for developing a range of ultra-premium wines. Located 80 km north of Adelaide, capital of South Australia.

The Barossa region is made up of two distinct valleys. The soil of the Barossa Valley is 200-250 m above sea level, with rich alluvial soils, red-brown and deep, ideal for growing vines with red wine. The upper Eden Valley, located 500 m above sea level, with soils of rocky schists, acidic and gray, ideal for viticulture in cold climate. These two regions constitute the Barossa.

Barossa is widely recognized as the most diverse district in Australia for premium vine growing. It offers cold, wet winters and generous spring rains to build up moisture reserves. In summer and autumn, the weather dries up, creating warm, moderate conditions for ripening grapes. This produces the full and generous varietal flavors that make the district famous.

The majority of the grapes come from the southern half, where the climate is not as harsh as other areas of the Barossa, the rainfall is more abundant.

Grant Burge's Fruity wines come from the following vineyards: Corryton Park, Summers, Lily Farm, Grocke Farm, Colin Burge, Haese, The Holy Trinity, Daly Road, Wilsford, Hillcot, Filsell, Cameron Vale, Ashlyn, Miamba, The Chaff Mill , Berghofer, Wohlstadt.
