A wine of limited production, Gran Estirpe is composed of a Malbec from Chacras de Coria, a Cabernet Sauvignon from Gualtallary and a blend of grapes from both regions. The winery seeks to identify these wines with the terroir that gives them origin.

We pay tribute to our first wine, Gran Estirpe Malbec 2004, in its tenth vintage with a special edition and limited production. The anniversary edition of Gran Estirpe is a Malbec 2014 with lots of character and structure, produced with grapes from centuries-old vineyards in Lunlunta, Maipú.

The elegance of Maipucino Malbec manifests itself in all its splendor and when it is uncorked it releases notes of candied red fruit, sweet spices and leather. Ripe tannins and a long and expressive aftertaste are also perceived.

Santiago López - Mendoza, 1981, graduate of the school of Islas Malvinas, Santiago Lopez offers a sincere product cuisine with a particular emphasis on the most renowned techniques of international gastronomy, but with a distinctly Mendoza profile, both in respect ingredients only in the combination of flavors. His work experiences include the Huentala Hotel, Optimo Restó and Casa Margot, before landing as Executive Chef at Clos de Chacras Restó in 2013.

The first vintage of Clos de Chacras dates from 2004. Clos de Chacras was built in 1921 and was part of a larger project called "Bodegas y Viñedos Gargantini". The first generation of the Gargantini family from Switzerland settled in Argentina at the end of the 19th century. Originally, they lived in the Italian-speaking city of Ticino. It was in Mendoza that Don Bautista Gargantini (second generation) managed to create the largest winemaking project of the time.

Over the years, the three wineries that belonged to this company changed hands several times until they were abandoned in the late 1970s. Then in 1987, Bautista's granddaughter, Silvia Gargantini , bought one of the wineries to take over the family business and honor his work.
